Mmm, well I personally think it's best not to turn up too soon on longhauls, there's isn't much contention for locker space {snip}.
But watch out if you are in a 3-class 777 and in the first two rows of J where there is a lack of overhead bins for the middle seats - in which case early boarding may be better to secure locker space.
