As said a couple of times: that is fine. Nobody will ever object if you do this once or twice. The question is if BA - if they can establish a pattern - can argue that you deliberately misrepresent your intentions and thus are committing fraud. Even if not serious enough to file a report they might expel you from their FFP.
I think that it is not even outside of their own rules. Other airlines have more clear clauses to prevent this, but the maximum consequence is cancelation of the ticket in question, which was what you wanted anyway.
TAs have more to worry about.
