My wife and I will be there Aug 1-3 and haven't picked a hotel yet. We would like a property where we can just park our car, leave it, and walk around.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!
The Ritz has a fantastic club level and great live music (Jeremy Davenport) in he lobby bar on the weekends. If you have an AMEX Plat card - the FHR upgrade is usually to a suite (but not Club). They now charge $300 more for club - but I have been able to negotiate it for $200.

The Roosevelt is across the street from the Ritz. If you are a Hilton gold or diamond, they tend to be very generous with suite upgrades. Don't be afraid to ask for one. The Roosevelt is part of Visa Signature Hotels - so book through them for extra amenities if you use a visa card.

The Windsor court is located near the casino and shopping. So if those are your preferences it might be a smart place to stay. The Windsor Court has recently remodeled many of its rooms. It also has a nice (smallish) spa that is only a couple of years old. The Windsor Court serves a great afternoon tea with some interesting teas from around the world.

It's HOT in New Orleans in August - but it's worth visiting for the dining alone! The city puts on a "coolinary" to encourage tourism. You can eat at 5 star restaurants every night. Brightsen's in uptown is my favorite. http://www.coolinaryneworleans.com/c...y-restaurants/

New Orleans is also a great city for corkage. Even the best restaurants will only charge you $25 for corkage - so if you have been saving a nice bottle bring it on your trip.

If you want to hear some classic New Orleans Jazz while you are in NOLA get a couple of tickets to a show at Snug Harbor.

I hope you have a wonderful stay in New Orleans!!
