Actually, my question was not about the semantics and exact definitions, but whether what they offer as EP is significantly better than plain economy. Purely from the customer perspective.

To me LH and TK Economy Premium is much better than plain economy, UA - not so (unless it is an exit row, but this I could always get as a Platinum member anyways...provided it is available).
