I'll add a vote for the Palliser in Calgary. The lounge has not been crowded when I visited and last night the appetizers and cheese mini plates (actually small wooden planks) were really nice. This has very large windows looking over one side of the city.

This was completely redone not long ago. Very comfortable and friendly staff.
