I was then deposited at reception, words were exchanged and I was told I could keep the wine but don't do it again...... the duty manager was "not available" and despite lodging a written complaint, I never got an apology.
Glad to say my only experience of this, and I haven't used this hotel since. To say it ruined the stay is an understatement.
If the lounge staffs allowed you to being them out, this warrants an escalation up to hhonors corporate if you have not already settled the issue with the hotel.
I wonder why do hotels hire such uncivilised security guards. I understand security guards are not service staff, but if you are interacting with guests - especially outside the lounge, then at least basic service is required! And, he should not even touch you.
I would suggest you write in to hhonors corporate and cc to the hotel general manager and ask for some form compensation and apology.
