Yes. AA used to do threashold bonuses as well. And will probably be the only way a positive change will happen. And not via the "All Golds will receive this, or all Plats now receive this benefit" type of enhancement. However, threashold bonus could be used to also dilute a current benefit. For example, EXPs will only get 4 SWUs at 100K EQMs/EQPs; but receive an additional pair for each additional 25K EQMs/EQPs. Thus, it only becomes an enhancement for the EXP who flies 175K miles or more.
