I see, this is great for those looking for some more space, and on further googling I gather they are actually quite cheap to purchase as they do not attract the same level of tax as a human occupant.

I am curious as to why BA would oppose offering this system. I would occasionally be very happy to purchase the same seat twice or the one next to me to earn double the points without double the flying. Imagine being able to do an entire GGL TP run on one return to Jersey, by simply buying the same CE seat 50 odd times!

BA gets extra revenue from TP chasing folks and theoretically can sell the same seat over and over again as there will only be the one occupant.
