Thanks for this, MSPeconomist. All that would make one feel a bit more special, so that's very reasonable. It's not really special, though, is it? I'm used to some of the IHG perks (and they're not known to be outstandingly customer-friendly), but those are all things they would offer to their better guests, too.

But you have an interesting point about the in-room check-in. I actually found that a bit awkward when it happened to me, and you've now given me a rational reason. I prefer a well-working normal check-in, maybe in a separate part of the reception area.
(if you're famous or don't want to be seen checking in, you might think otherwise, though)
