Hence why I said "partially similiar". However it was still the same in that they had to cancel 1 reservation and change the room type to something that is sold out but held in the other reservation. I highly suggest though that you are both on the phone when you call. It might make things easier for the representative.
Also I forgot that you have the option of transferring points to her account (as allowed by Hyatt T&C) and then booking the standard room under award on her account. That may help as others have described here.
