I took Capt Andy's the last time in early October & went snorkeling, but the preferred snorkeling location was too rough, so they chose a calmer point on the Poipu side of the island. When I asked the crew about the change, they said that decisions are made on a daily basis and sometimes on the spur of the moment depending on the ocean. Sorry I can't shed more light, but if you haven't seen the Na Pali coast, even without snorkeling, it's worth it. Also, there are several spots on Kauai to go snorkeling without the cruise.
