And I wouldn't take it as read that your possessions will necessarily get wrecked. There are plenty of anecdotes of it happening here, but overwhelmingly the data must be that luggage and possessions get through the system unscathed. So I wouldn't dwell too long on the point.

I've seen plenty of rollators stored in the cabin, the problem seems to be width, some of them won't go down the aisles very well or fold up too compactly.

I'm in the USA now, and opposite a medium sized Walgreens. Rollators are on sale there for $70 plus sales tax.
