Beardoc, may I ask on which airline/aircraft combinations did you see ECG monitoring and on which aircraft type did you have this incident on QR? I have only seen ECG monitoring on board regular commercial flights are when remote diagnostics are used which is not used ubiquitously.
As a non-practising qualified nurse now, around 13 years ago when I was still fully fledged I dealt with a passenger who collapsed on a long haul BA flight. It turned out okay in the end thankfully, but we had found out this pax was diabetic and at that time, to my surprise and also one of the CC's who was also an ex-nurse, there was no blood sugar monitoring equipment in the medical kit. Glad to see it has now been added.
