It's not unusual for AA to have different fares from BA, so it is always worth a quick check.

If you want to find out the AA fare basis, this is much easier than with BA. After selecting flights on the first screen, and ignoring the AA login screen, the next screen will show the flight details and a pop up box marked View Fare Rules. The fare basis will be spelled out with admirable clarity.
