Disclaimer: The TravelBank terms don't specifically say this, but this will only work if the entire itinerary is on UA/UAX metal. No TravelBank option if a single segment is operated by a partner. I've told this story in some other thread before, but about 3 years ago, had a big headache trying to use registry funds for our honeymoon because of a single ANA segment. Took about a week and a half-dozen or so calls (maybe more) to find an agent who not only agreed that there was no restriction on using TravelBank funds on partner carriers, but was actually willing to go to bat and get a ticket issued. It's an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone.

When you pay for your ticket, the "redeem gift certificate" section is separate from the "CC payment" section so you cause use the Cert then pay the remainder with the CC.
Again, will only work if all UA/UAX metal. That whole section with alternate payment options (gift card, TravelBank, TCV, etc.) will not appear if any non UA segments are on the itin.
