Not sure why you're being to aggressive -- I just pointed out that LH is doing this and already is looking for volunteers at the point of online checkin. I never said I felt pressured into accepting "the offer" (that's another subject: "financial compensation" and "later flight" is a bit vague to volunteer for anything).
But it also shows that the EU261 regulations are there for a good reason.

It has nothing to do with EU261. This is very common on US airlines and has been for quite a while.
All the volunteering does is let the airline know you
might be interested. There is no "deal" until you agree to specific compensation and rebooking on flights you find acceptable.
