If Fubon works out at about 3% rebate in AM, then it seems only marginally better than a UK mileage earning card, 'cause you're paying 1.95% (or is it 1.85%?) for the FX fee, and then you also have to factor in the spread and forgoing earning (a lesser number of) AM on the UK card?

Yep, actually I find this a real problem in HK as well with Unionpay cards where the restaurant staff (who often don't speak any English) constantly ask if your card has a PIN (I guess many of the mainland cards do).
