My impression from several visits to ordinary grocery stores is that the locally grown fruit is very fresh, since it is grown within a few miles of the store in many cases. The only exception I found was coconut -- we couldn't find any fresh coconut in Kahala (east of Honolulu).

I suggest the nearest regular grocery store. Perhaps some Hawaii locals will chime in on this question.
