I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination but I have been in many an Airbus narrowbody cockpit during landings and I have always observed the pilot in command applying little if any force to the control stick during this critical period of flight during good visibility conditions. It is my understanding that the plane is able to pretty much "land itself" but the P.I.C. can re-acquire manual control by applying force to the stick.
