My gf and I are looking to stay near Times Square for this upcoming New Year. My gf was planning on getting the Chase Hyatt credit card and use the two free nights. We thought that it's still kinda early to book the hotels in the summer so we took our time... well now it looks like most hotels near Times Square are all sold out completely.

It will still take her about a month to get her free night certificates, so I went ahead and booked two nights for Park Hyatt with my points. I'm sure by the time she gets her certificates, there will be no more room left. So I'm wondering will it work if I call them, ask them to cancel my award stays and immediately use my gf's free night certificates to get these two nights back to her account?
