Did they let you through? I always check in online before I leave, and I never check bags. Sometimes overseas HA flights leave out of the Central Concourse. When this happens I would much rather park in the overseas garage and be near my gate, instead of doing the trek or WikiWiki over from the interisland terminal.
I do this all the time, whether flying HA and passing through the overseas TSA Pre line or flying a big 3 carrier and passing through the interisland terminal TSA Pre line. Mobile boarding passes help greatly. The consolidation of all TSA Pre lines in the overseas terminal into one while they construct the air conditioned central checkpoint is a bit humbug lately though. Since all the gates are connected airside, there is (or should be) no restrictions on your ability to use certain checkpoints.
