(Same goes for all BA contributors - whether we agree or disagree with your positions the forum is certainly a better and more informed place through your contributions ^ )
My questions are:
1. I have a properly setup company on OB (incl VAT# etc

) but when I try to make a booking from DUB-BGI For Aug 22-28 I get an error message advising that I can't book the route as it's not a route operated by BA. I was trying to book J and upgrade to F.
2. I've found flights on matrix for the above dates / route for €1,951 in I class (fare basis INCEU28). Am I correct in assuming that I should be able to book that via OB for the same price plus the points required for the upgrade?
3. Is it possible to book DUB-POS//BGI-DUB (given it's the same flight # on BGI-POS) or is that not possible using OB points to upgrade?
I appreciate it's not your day job to help with the above but would really appreciate if you can help me understand the OB system a little better as I've about 150k points and have never been able to use any of them!
Thanks.
Hello....firstly im a contact centre Agent for BA so technically it IS my day job!
1. Ok point one yes there are currently quite a few scenarios where upgrade with onbusiness points doesnt work. Unfortunately we dont have the functionality in the contact centre currently so if it doesnt work online there is no alternative way to book. As you mentioned ropey IT.
2. Potentially yes if online lets you book it. The commercial fare can book into J C D R I so an I class fare is possible.
3. Is really kinda the same as 1 unfortunately. Try and book it and if it works it works!
I feel like ive probably been no help buts its really as i said down to if it allows you to book online. Generally the bookings ive seen fail ate connecting journeys so it might work if it was booked as seperate return.
So say booking the Dub-lhr return seperate and a lgw-pos return with upgrade.
Obviously problematic in terms of cancelled flights schedule changes and i presume you were trying to effectively do it as Ex EU.
