What is the immediate area around the Hilton like? Does it have cool bars/restaurants/sights?
Nothing much is in the neighbourhood of Hilton. There are several mediocre restaurants nearby. I like Hilton's food options better.
IC on Tverskaya is the best location one can possibly get in Moscow. Gazprom, Red Square, best of the best restaurants are all in a walking distance.
I choose Hilton because it's very good hotel itself, cheaper, very good lounge, pool and fitness. Breakfast is also good but not fantastic.
