The itinerary I want to book would put me 5 hours over (TWOV ends 00:01 just after Monday midnight, flight is 5:00am Tuesday morning).
One option is to check-in and clear immigration before midnight, but the airline/airport might not allow that.
-y500, but fines are reduced by 50% as a matter of policy (for people who aren't jerks)
-advisable? risky? -- Of course this plan (deliberately breaking a law) is not advisable!!! But, if you're proficient in Chinese, and don't mind spending 20 minutes in the "back room" settling your fine, you should be okay
-immigration clearing times are not relevant
