I get we need some sort of security, but it seems that some of what TSA does is just plain silly and more annoying than real security.
I keep coming back to a friend who works for the FBI always say, things like (Gate Searches my example) only serve to Keep the Honest People Honest.
I would venture a guess that there is not a single person in this forum who would argue that we don't need any security. Like you, I believe that security is a good thing. It's the methods and lack of accountability that drive me nuts.
