Interesting point to what exactly counts as notice. I recently had no idea that my flight in Feb 2016 had been downgraded to CW due to an equipment change. BA did not inform me by email, phone, text, telegram, flying message, etc. I only found out when I logged onto my BAEC account after finding out on FT. Even the BA app on the iPhone does not flash up with the change.
Does one have a case if they turn up at check-in and claim that they have not been given the relevant notice and therefore are entitled to 75% of the fare back.
There is no notice period that the airline can give which would excuse the airline from its obligation of a 75% reimbursement for a downgrade
14 days notice period is only applicable to cancellations , not for downgrades
