follow up, July 2015
So, thought I'd just follow up for others looking for info in the future.
First, there was a kiosk at the airport with two people soliciting inbound travelers. Not sure what service, but I skipped them since I had info on the A1 on Kaerntner strasse and knew it was close to my hotel.
I went to the A1 as soon as I settled in, and, as reported by MaxBuck, had no issues conversing in English and getting set up within less than 10 minutes. They had the nano SIMs, so no cutting or anything like that.
BFree plan was 9,90 E and gave me 1000 mins. talk' 1000 SMS and 2 GB data.
Only used the data, but it was great. Managed e-mails throughout the trip, did a lot of Google and Yelp research and used various Vienna guides and Apps. Leaving Vienna now and only used 500 MB.
T-mobile and 3 (A1 competitors) also had shops within a couple blocks of the A1 store. Easy to find any.
If you are traveling to other European countries - you may want to check for inter-Europe options. I had an associate come in from London who used 3 as their London provider - apparently 3 has some "friendly" European countries where you can use the 3 service without any additional charges. Austria was one of them, and she was using her phone just as if she was in London.
Thanks for everyone's help!
