They have looked into it, but a major inhibiting factor for them (which another poster alluded to) is the fact that they cannot take the same high proportion of freight as the 777, and cargo traffic is very important to CX.

I defy any airline livery to make that thing look good. Don't get me wrong, I think it is a brilliant aircraft, but it so irredeemably ugly that whatever paint you use it will still be like putting lipstick on a pig!
Furthermore, I have to say that much as I like the concept of the A380, and as much as I dislike the 777 as an aircraft (I find the engine noise very grating), I am glad CX aren't taking it. I just feel that service standards would deteriorate with that many passengers on board.
I am really looking forward to the A350's arrival. I have a feeling that could be really special.
