I have a long layover in KWI (~10 hours). The ticket has been issued by United and the JED-KWI leg is by Kuwait Airlines and KWI-IAD leg is by United. I was going through Kuwaiti air transportation laws and it states that travellers facing a wait of more than eight hours for a connecting flight are entitled to free rooms at the Safir, courtesy of their air carrier. When I contacted United about this they refused to provide me a hotel. Also, I cannot get a visa on arrival so going out of the airport is difficult.
What do I do in this situation? Does anyone else have any experience with this?
