Sorry, you're right. My faulty memory. It's been a year since I took a train to Barcelona and I was thinking about the AVE which is one level. I took the TGV over and the AVE back. So if on the upper level you'd get a slightly better sea view for a few minutes or so here and there in the south. Again, not the most scenic line.
