Over in BA, I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a shower and staff seem confident in suggesting the wait-time as less than 10 mins. But yes, the shower room in T5 is merely functional but two or three years past a needed makeover. Food and drink choices significantly better to my tastes.
That said, even if I had the choice to go to T5 having landed at T3, I'd go with AA arrivals as it saves time getting into London. Breakfast would have to be on the plane (Hmm, maybe? Just feels odd thinking about that

Indeed, nothing like a wait for a shower to create grumpiness...agree the food is better in T5 arrivals, but would still take AA arrivals lounge food over any onboard breakfast, not least to gain a little extra sleep (except maybe the great bacon rolls when served in F).
