Sure, you can call AA and tell them whatever you like.

However OW.com does not have an award space search, so you're just taking shots in the dark as to whether the flight will have availability.

Also, your statement about what carriers are shown on the AA.com award search is incorrect. While not exhaustive, the site shows more partners than just BA.
