UA charges more miles for awards involving star alliance partners. UA GF rate is the same as the J rate for Star alliance partners. UA allows the connecting flights in a lower cabin on partners on a GF award. For OP to get F for the other legs its a 50K mile upcharge each way for Partner F award to asia
