If the OP is willing to drive to Toronto, why not drive all the way to New York?
According to Googlemaps, 830km. Roughly 10 hours.
Not how I would want to spend 10 hours. However factoring in driving to/from the airport, checkin, customs etc., would it be that much slower?

What about bus, Amtrak. Surface transport one way, air the other. etc.
