couple questions about Business Elite, now renamed Delta One apparently, after reading the past 10 pages or so of the thread...
1. Recommendations for family of 4? Haven't seen any discussion on this in the thread. December DTW > AMS (then on to Scotland) overnight flight on a 333. This is our first business class flight. Done a few international trips previously in economy class. Kids are teen / pre-teen. They enjoy having their own in-flight entertainment system. Currently we are booked in 4A, 5A, 6A, 7A. My thought was the kids may enjoy each having their own aisle seat. Cabin is pretty open -- only occupied seats are 8A, 9A, 7J, 8J. I'm reconsidering possibly 2ACGJ, or 4ACGJ, or 1CG+2AJ. Leaning toward the latter since it would give us the option of one of the kids sitting together with mom or dad or having being alone in a window seat. Seems like the business class cabin toward the front will feel like a pretty private environment regardless of what we pick.
Not sure how full the cabin will be on this Christmastime flight. Having a couple window seats in case the kids want that (likely) seems prudent. Making sure the kids get their preferred meal choice also is important; they are picky eaters. Would they bring us food from economy class if the kids don't like what they see on the biz class menu?
2. What determines the priority, i.e. whether you receive the desired food -- the sequence in which food orders are taken, or the sequence in which food orders are delivered? I hear people talking about sitting up front and having their orders taken before the people sitting in the back of the business class cabin but that the meal service is delivered from the back to the front. Does this mean that although you may be in the front of the cabin and ordered first, that you could still end up not getting your food selection?
Thanks in advance for the feedback.
