You may very well be entitled to EU Reg. 261 compensation -- depending on the reason for the delay. Where are you originating from? Ask the BA agent there about EU 261 compensation, and for the brochure that describes your rights under the regulation.

(If your flight is delayed because protesters blocked a runway at LHR, you may be out of luck.)
