Not wishing you bad news, but this could indicate that your account has been locked. Had the same thing happen on Saturday and then discovered could not purchase anything via debit. Phoned in, was transferred to Risk Department where I got the "point boosting" speech. Apologized profusely and my account was unlocked with a warning. Bill payment was active again the next morning (which I used to quickly liquidate large balance as a mortgage payment).
That was my first thought, but I've been making debit PIN and signature purchases all along since I noticed the problem over the weekend. I was also able to get $50 back at the grocery store. Usually when they lock you down, you can't use the card at all, right?
