In part due to the lack of direct flights to PDX, and in part a desire to get as many >2000 mile segments into my itinerary as possible (for BAEC tier point purposes), I've got a 23 hour layover in Charlotte (CLT) later this week. I've snagged a fairly good SPG Hot Escapes rate for the Four Points by Sheraton Charlotte, which I believe to have an airport shuttle and be by a light rail stop, so I can hopefully get to most places fairly easily. I've also got most of the day off work, so if jetlag isn't too bad, I'd quite like to leave the hotel and go out to do something!
Searching this forum, I've found
a few ideas from 2011 with a few tips, and a few suggestions to head to the
Carolinas Aviation museum, but that's about it
What do the fine people of this bit of FlyerTalk suggest for a ~1 day layover, for things to do?
