It's funny to hear of your 'great' experience at RC Central Park, as I stayed in a club room in June and it was the least favorite of all my RC stays. I'm a gold member, which sometimes means an upgrade - but I did not get one at Central Park location.
We didn't receive any help from the doorman when we arrived. We finally had an assistant (intern, I believe) take us up to the our room, after check in.
Other small issues - spa was small and treatment room doors are in the relaxation room, concierge directions were inadequate and we ended up getting lost (ok, maybe our fault...) dinner in the restaurant was not worth the cost, in my opinion, and the lobby, rooms and club just needs refreshment/updating.
Sorry, just not impressed with this location. Believe it or not - my most favorite location is New Orleans - due to the staff (the physical setting isn't outstanding). How you're treated by the staff really makes the difference to me. Others I've stayed at include Shanghai Pudong, Amelia Island and LA Live, so that is how I'm making my comparison.
