Wow, thought this thread was gonna die with no comments but thanks guys!

The RC central park got a nice chocolate cake with macaroons for my GF's birthday, placed it in the room while we were out with a nice handwritten card from the guest relations manager. Yeah, not the most extravagant or even out of the ordinary thing to happen, but it was very elegant how they did it and really gave us a great impression of the brand. Even if they don't' go above and beyond, the service in general is awesome.

I remember the RC in Kyoto, you "check in" at the lobby, which really means they escort you to your room and do all of the check-in process there. Very nice touch.
