I fell prey to one of their trap-charges last year. Did not print the boarding pass before leaving the states figuring I could do that with my bed and breakfast host in Portugal before the Ryanair flight-did not take care of it early during the stay, host had no working printer-ended up merely checking in online and needing to pay the 15 euro for a boarding pass print at the airport. Waste of 15 euro but they got me this once and with all my dirt cheap flights on Ryanair am I really going to complain about giving them an extra 15 euro once?

Yes there is some unavoidable nickel-and-diming which would be better just built into the fare but so much of it is avoidable-except maybe checked luggage fees for long stays at a destination. For a low cost, low service carrier they are great. Most of their passengers would not fly or certainly not as frequently, if the only other option were a much higher priced traditional full service airline.

Do I enjoy flying the traditional full service airlines more? Sure but not only at much higher fares but often requiring a connection at a hub. Ryanair has much more point to point flying saving time and the hassle of connecting.

The ballad is cute and funny and has many true points yet i tire of Ryanair's detractors panning the airline constantly. Don't like their ways, pay more and fly a full service airline.
