As to the notice issue, it's clear from OP's repeated posts that he was issued BP's for an existing flight at an existing time. He did not show up for that flight as scheduled. He has admitted his mistake in this regard.
It is certainly a lesson learn to scrutinise all boarding cards closely.
But why on earth would I have expected or anticipated a change or error?
Ironically, we entered the lounge on the back of the iffy boarding passes 20 minutes before the flight on the BP departed.
