Platinum travel service is horrible
I'm a new platinum cardholder and I just booked a room for an out of town wedding via Amex Plat. travel. I had to call to try to take advantage of a discount the couple had arranged. Turns out we had a change of plans so I had to cancel the reservation.
Shockingly, there is no way to cancel or modify the reservation online, even with the record locator sent in a confirmation email, this option simply doesn't exist. I was put on hold for a total of 35 minutes (a Sunday night!) on two different phone numbers. If this is platinum service, I wonder what green card service is like...
Should have been suspicious, as my corporate Amex travel experiences at a past job were horrific. Live and learn.
