Where did you stay in Chisinau? I rented an apt. in a rough looking old Soviet building on Pushkin, the interior was nice enough, but it definitely looked like a murder hole.

Should have stayed overnight in Tiraspol, nothing like what passes for nightlife in Transnistria.

Missed out on the placinte in Moldova, I think La Taifas was the place I went for local food. Very good. Did you make it to the wineries outside of the city? Overall Chisinau was much nicer than I expected.
