Restricting choice and competition is not done in the interests of the countrymen, it is done in the interests of the tycoons that have HK in their pocket. It is why flying out of HK is so expensive and why there is so little choice or competition across any industry the old Hongs have their fingers in. It is actually detrimental to the countrymen.
The irony is that there are so many cheap deals fly INTO Hong Kong, but hardly ever for flying from Hong Kong, but I guess that makes sense.
Oh and don't believe what the Heritage Foundation says.
