Spent 2-nights here between stays in Lille and Mont St Michel.

Although their website shows their location on a street map there is absolutely no indication that the streets that surround this property are all pedestrian zones so one cannot drive up to the hotel (I found their valet parking info useless since I couldn’t drive to the hotel and get my bags out anyhow). I therefore parked at a nearby 24-hr underground parking area and rolled my bags to the hotel only to find there’s no ramp to get the bags up to the lobby entrance (wonder what happens if someone is in a wheel chair?). Once I got to the front desk I queried this problem and after they saw that I had made the reservation on Marriott.com told me with a straight face that if I had made the reservation via a travel agent they would have told me of the pedestrian area (so don’t make resees via Marriott.com if you’re driving here!!).

PAG was not offered. Just another in a series of Autograph Collection properties in EU who told me as an AC they do not participate in PAGs to platinum members (as an alternative they told me that they considered the junior suite pre-arrival upgrade as a PAG substitute – in the end, this cost them $100/E91).

Internet access codes not offered. After I returned to the front desk to ask for it was told that most of their guests do not have devices to hook up to the Internet so the access codes must be specifically requested.

Breakfast was included in my room rate so have no idea of what might have been provided if it weren’t. No champagne available as in Lille. Croissants again packaged.

While the exterior of the hotel has mainly been kept, the refurbishment of the interior has left literally nothing of it’s former self (like in Lille) so you completely loose the ambiance that one thought would be found (like in Lille) in staying in this converted property.

If I had to do this drive again I would have stayed in Lille for 3-nights and here only 1 (and likely chosen another property much easier to access with my rental car) as it was only a sleep stop on the way to Mont St Michel.
