Just to give you all an interesting update.

Flight was due to depart at 3:10PM on 8th from Sydney to Singapore but unfortunately after 2 failed take offs due to engine issues we were escorted off the A380-800 after being sat on it for 7 hours while they tried to fix it.

They had to check in a fully booked plane (500 odd people) into 7 hotels across Sydney (I was checked into the Adina Hotel in Mascot). This took literally forever but finally got to the hotel and went to bed at 2AM.

I had to wake up at 7AM because i didn't know what time my new flight was but it turned out to be at 3:10PM again which was delayed until about 4:30PM... But at least we took off this time.

New layover time changed from 2 hours to 14 hours which was concerning considering i couldn't leave the transit area due to my passport expiring. I was hoping but they were going to put me in a transit side hotel but nope, they checked me into The Carlton Hotel. No one at the counter really knew what to do with me but they ended up calling in some guy who escorted me to immigration and they thankfully were able to get me a 2 day pass into Singapore and as a bonus was fast tracked past the huge queue going through immigration.

Finally got to bed at around 2AM and then woke up at 6AM for my 9:05AM flight to London.
