Of course, everyone's experience may vary.

Transatl: Maybe I'm just "lucky", but I still occasionally experience what we used to call "the witches of Gatwick". And AA seems to have better connections without a lot of funneling through AMS. A/C seem equivalent.

Transpac: For the longest time, UA had lie-flat 100%, not so much DL. UA has an easier west coast connecting network. UA was (and is) more $ though, so for the last couple years, if not using DL, I'd rather use the UA network to access SQ.

It seems pretty popular to hate on UA right now. <shrugs> Your world view changes when you experience them all, they all have problems & standouts.
