Just an update. I spent two nights at the moondance hotel. It is located about 15-20 minutes outside of town. Costs runs around $100 a night. No real view to talk of since it looks like they were doing some renovation. The room itself was nice with internet, tv and comfortable bed. They had a laundry service which was reasonably priced. Was quiet at night and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The fact it is out of town is a double edged sword. I actually liked the town itself and would go down there at night, which made the taking cabs back and forth rather annoying. That being said for exploring the country side it is much easier starting from this location than starting in town and I did some significant rides/hikes into the surrounding areas. If I went back I wouldn't stay on west street but I would probably stay in town. However, for those who want to get away from it all and just relax out in the country then it may be a good fit as well as for first time visitors who want to explore the countryside and get a head start on everyone else.
