I like Schwab checking account. No minimum balance but you have to open associated brokerage account (no deposit needed). They do not have any physical bank locations except I think in California but the mobile deposit works great or you can always send the checks in. The ATM fees in US and abroad are reimbursed and I have had no issue using my ATM card.The few times I needed to contact them they responded promptly.
